Zen Virtuosity - Introduction to Long-term Zen Practice

An Advanced Integrative Zen Workshop

Zen does not exist as a separate entity outside our daily life. Once we get past this belief (and it’s not easy to do this - some never do), the question becomes - "OK, so what does practice look like when we aren’t sitting in zazen, or at the Centre? It’s a great question, and the place where most people get lost and Zen (practice) withers for them.

This workshop explores what long term Zen practice looks like and and how it is done. Major ways of long term practice are presented and reviewed. Each way of long term practice presented is also available, in a more comprehensive manner, as a separate course.

Workshop Leader Guy Gaudry Roshi, Director of the London Zen Centre.

Cost: $195 until April 3, $295 afterwards.

Taking Refuge in the Bodhisattva Way Ceremony

Taking Refuge in the Bodhisattva Way

The path of Zen, awakening, is a path we walk together and not alone. It’s a way of being in the world that leads us to a deeper connection with all beings. The Zen Buddhist precepts guide us first to our heart and then to a way of living that encourages awakening. It's not about being perfect, it’s more about a commitment to the way.

Join us for the Refuge Ceremony 2019 and welcome Sangha members as they take Refuge in the Bodhisattva way and receive their Rakusu.

After the Honeymoon

Sustaining Zen practice over the long-term - a one day workshop

The tricky part of Zen practice, isn't at beginning, its after a few years of practice. Zen practice is exciting at first, we make all sorts of discoveries and our lives become more satisfying and richer. Then -- we plateau and our practice becomes stuck and the magic seems lost. The honeymoon is over.

This is a dangerous time in Zen practice, for what we do now, has huge implications for our long-term personal growth and development. Our practice can deepen and become more functional, OR, practice can fade and our lives drift back to our old ways without us even noticing.

This workshops explores the pitfalls, minefields and traps of this phase of practice and presents ways to strengthen, enliven, and integrate our practice in our life, so our personal growth and development continues.

Cost:* $95 Included in this workshop is one year access to the online Zen Program, Inexhaustible Zen.

*Note: scholarships available to those who can't afford the full cost of the class, send a note to [email protected].
